Swimming Demonstration

On Monday after morning tea we are going to the town pool for a demonstration of our swimming.
1. Length races
2. Half length races
3. Group demonstrations
4. Fun races.

After this Miss Veale will be buying us some hot chips to share.

Liturgy

On Monday we will  be running liturgy. We have 13 slides on our powerpoint and nearly everyone in our class has a job. It will be fun but also a little nerve racking.

Summer Reading Prize Winners

38 children from St Marys won prizes in the summer reading challenge. Well done to the Room 5 winners. Pia won a book as well however she was away for our photo.

Our new Monarch

Today when Miss Veale was at lunch the chrysallis hatched. It was lucky she left Jack in charge of her camera and tripod. He got some great pictures.

Room 5's Monarchs

When we got to school we saw something on the window. We gathered around the window to see what it was. It was 2 orange and black butterflies. Soon Miss Veale got them down and brought them outside. One fluttered away but the next one stayed on her finger and we got to put it on our heads. When we put it on the branched it stayed there for a while. We got bored watching it and went back inside. Relay for Life at St Marys

On the 20th of February we did a relay for life at school. We had to wear pink purple or white mufti clothes to school and bring a gold coin donation. The donations are going to the cancer society.
We were allowed to take a drink bottle if we wanted to. Our class had to walk 5 laps or more of the school block. I did 5 laps around the block and I wore white for the relay for life.

Our health unit this term is Me. We are looking at how we can manage ourselves and become more independant. We began by brainstorming words that describe us and things we like to do and then we put these words into a word cloud.

I saw Breanna walking around the track with her Dad today. Did anyone else go to the Relay for Life at the high school?

Athletics and Kiwisports

On Fridays we have been having kiwisport and athletics training.

Swimming

Today we had lots of children forget their togs. Remember swimming every Monday and Wednesday please. At the end of our session we had a play.
